Korea Kimchi Festival 2024 Celebrates Culture and Community in LA and London
The Korea Kimchi Festival 2024 has concluded in two of four countries it is set to visit this year with resounding success, leaving attendees inspired by the rich world of kimchi. This year’s festival featured an array of engaging workshops led by local chefs, attracting hundreds of participants eager to dive into the art and history of kimchi making.
The festival kicked off in Los Angeles at Seoul International Park, offering six interactive workshops alongside K-Pop performances over the first two days, ending with a lively parade on the third day. The event drew over [insert number] visitors, creating an electric atmosphere filled with eagerness and creativity.
On the 12th of October, Samsung KX in London transformed into a kimchi haven, bringing together enthusiasts through a shared passion for both kimchi and K-Pop. Local creators, including Becky Lee (Hangukhapa), Mikey Espinosa, and Korean Billy, joined the festivities to celebrate Korean culture and the spread of kimchi knowledge.
One of the day’s most memorable moments featured over a hundred participants making kimchi together on the floor, reminiscent of beloved scenes from their favourite K-dramas. The sense of community was further amplified by vibrant K-Pop performances and Random Play Dance (RPD) sessions, organised by UK-based RPD and event coordinators BKT.
The Korea Kimchi Festival 2024 has not only deepened attendees’ appreciation for kimchi but also strengthened cultural ties within these dynamic communities. We look forward to continuing this celebration of one of South Korea’s most iconic foods and culture back in LA and London in the years to come.
Stay tuned as we prepare for our upcoming events for Korea Kimchi Festival in Sydney, Australia, on the 9th of November, followed by New Delhi on the 23rd of November.
